Mind-Body-Spirit connection
Many factors influence our psychological health and wellbeing including mental, emotional, physical, behavioural, environmental, social, cultural, historical and spiritual factors. I welcome you to consider all of these as we develop an understanding of what is going on for you.
Research increasingly acknowledges links between mental health and physical health (e.g. neurological, endocrine, auto-immune, gut microbiome and other body system imbalances). If this is part of your story, we may take a holistic approach by exploring modifiable lifestyle factors that are known to impact physical & mental health (eg. sleep, diet, exercise, among others) and our sessions can be used to support the process of change you wish to engage in.
Spiritual beliefs and practices are an important resource for many people, particularly through difficult times. Your spirituality will be respected and can be incorporated into our therapy conversations where this is important for you. I take a reflexive approach to spirituality and have explored and derived value from different religious, cultural and secular traditions through my own life journey.
