About

Hello, my name is Anna and I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.

I have a warm and compassionate manner, and an appreciation for the complexities that life can throw our way. I have great respect for the courage involved in seeking support and aim to provide a non-judgemental space where you can safely explore what's on your mind.

I have worked as a psychologist in community health, private hospitals and private practice settings. I work with a range of mental health presentations, and have a particular interest in relationship & attachment difficulties, self-esteem, trauma, grief & loss, and neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism).

I also have experience working in private hospital settings with individuals who have received diagnoses such as Bipolar Affective Disorder (BPAD), Alcohol misuse/addiction and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In my honours and masters research dissertations I explored how young adults navigate subtle early warning signs of abuse in intimate relationships.

Prior to becoming a psychologist, I spent twelve years in large international organisations designing and facilitating leadership, change and sustainability programs. I have lived and worked in the Netherlands, Hungary and the United Kingdom, and am now settled on the Sunshine Coast with my family.

How therapy can help

Sometimes, we find ourselves facing challenges that are bigger than we are able to understand or navigate on our own. Seeing a psychologist can be beneficial in many ways.

The therapeutic process can help you to make sense of, adapt to, and heal from difficult life experiences. Therapy can also be a reflective space to get clearer on your values and directions in life; to connect with your innermost wishes for your future and bring these into being.

A psychologist may take the role of a listener, collaborator and at times a guide, as you come to understand yourself better and develop new ways to respond to life situations.

Approach to therapy

I am committed to collaborating with you to figure out the best approach for you, based on your particular situation.

I work in a trauma-informed and strengths-based manner, and believe significant change can come about within the holding space of a safe therapeutic relationship. I also practice from a neuro-affirming stance and enjoy working with individuals who identify as neurodivergent.

Mind-Body-Spirit connection

Many factors influence our psychological health and wellbeing including mental, emotional, physical, behavioural, environmental, social, cultural, historical and spiritual factors. I welcome you to consider all of these as we develop an understanding of what is going on for you.

Complex interactions exist between physical & psychological systems. Mental processes impact the body and physiological processes can impact patterns of the mind. If a physical health condition is part of your story, we can consider your symptoms holistically. We may take an integrative approach, including addressing lifestyle factors that are known to positively support the whole body-mind system.

Spiritual & cultural beliefs and practices are an important resource for many people, particularly through difficult times. Your spirituality can be incorporated into our therapy conversations where this is important for you. I take a reflexive approach to spirituality and am open minded to the varied ways that individuals connect with their own sense of spirituality (religious or otherwise).

Appointments

I currently see clients for private appointments on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays in Maroochydore.
All sessions are 50 minutes, including the initial consultation. A referral from your GP or Psychiatrist is preferred, but not required.

Fees - Individual therapy sessions‍
The 2026-2027 Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi) recommended fee for a 40-60 minute session with a psychologist is $340.
Weekday appointments (50min): $285.00
Saturday appointments (50min): $315.00
Full payment is required at time of session.
No bulk billing available.

‍Medicare Rebates (effective 1 July 2026)
A Medicare rebate of $149.05 per session is available for patients with a GP Mental Health Care Plan, for up to 10 sessions in the 2026 calendar year.
The gap payment (after rebate) would be:
$135.95 (weekday appointment)
$165.95 (Saturday appointment)

Private health insurance
If you have private health insurance, please check with your insurance provider as a rebate may be available to you. I can provide you with a payment receipt that you can submit to your insurer to make a claim. I do not process private health rebates directly.

Other Insurers
If your treatment is approved through an insurance provider (eg. RACQ, Workcover), your session fees are charged directly to your insurer, with no out of pocket fees.

NDIS
Fees are charged at the hourly rate set by NDIS. Plan-managed individuals must provide invoicing details prior to the first appointment. For self-managed individuals, upfront payment is required at the time of your session, and I will provide a receipt so that you can claim the fees back from NDIS.

Fees for letters and reports
- Standard  Medicare MHCP progress report (at completion of 6 and 10 sessions) - no fee charged
- Other letters, reports or MHCP progress reports requiring greater detail - $71.25/15mins
Please note: Anna does not provide formal diagnostic psychological assessment reports or Medicolegal reports.

Cancellation policy
Please let us know 2 business days ahead if you need to reschedule. This allows clients on the waitlist enough time to book and attend that appointment. If less than 24hrs notice is provided, the full appointment fee will be charged.
